Rochdale 1-3 Doncaster Rovers; 250 word report

Bescot Stadium, Walsall

Rovers at Rochdale
A must win game for Dickov
Or so people said

Just eight minutes gone,
Rochdale open the scoring.
Dickov out! And that.

Matt Done with the goal;
A diving header unmarked.
Nowt Johnstone could do.

Rovers rallied and
Forced themselves back into it
Slowly but surely.

Midway through the half
Kyle Bennett made it one all
A well struck low shot

Jamie Coppinger’s
Neat footwork allowing space
For Bennett to shoot.

In the second half
Things swung in Rovers favour
When Done was dismissed

The striker sent off
For a reckless lunge on Copps
On the halfway line

(Both the halfway line
On the pitch and the halfway
Line on Coppinger)

With an extra man
Rovers created chances
But failed to take them

Andy Butler hit
The crossbar, and then Bennett
Hit the post as well

But eventually
The pressure told and Rovers
Went ahead at last

Theo Robinson
Getting the goal he needed
To boost confidence

Then right at the death
Rovers found the net again
To secure the win

Curtis Main’s back-heel
From Reece Wabara’s low cross
Making it 3-1.

Looks like ‘Dickov in!’
For another week at least
‘Til Oldham beat us
