Travelling to the Ricoh unchanged for the third game in a row, Rovers had the brighter start, with Harry Middleton closest to opening the scoring; a speculative effort testing Reice Charles-Cook in the Coventry goal.
Against the run of play, Rovers went behind; in-form Adam Armstrong pouncing on a blocked Sam Ricketts drive to slot home. Coventry constantly looked like grabbing a second, but to the relief of the away end the half time whistle came first.
Rovers came out fighting in the second half, and a goal soon followed. Andy Williams strike was parried straight to Nathan Tyson who poked home from two yards for the second time in two games.
However, it took Coventry only seven minutes to regain the lead. A corner from the right was cleared only to John Fleck and his low left footed effort from 25 yards proved too powerful for Thorsten Stuckmann.
Rovers tried to get back into the game, with Williams and Tyson putting a huge shift in up top. Williams was hard done by after Charles-Cook dropped a Craig Alcock cross and the forward poked home, only for the referee to see an imaginary push on the keeper.
Charles-Cook’s hesitance was finally punished, when his pass out was intercepted by Williams and Tyson slotted home to draw Rovers a level. Tyson almost grabbed a hat trick a minute from time, curling and ambitious effort over Charles-Cook and hitting the bar, however a hard earned point was more than satisfying.
